Job description

Field Service and Applications Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide in-field assistance for pre- and post-sales technical activities with a primary focus on expanding the user base of diagnostic products. Offer onsite technical guidance and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation, and accreditation of company products. Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for clients. Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Scientific Affairs, Technical Support, Service, and global business units to identify customer needs and deliver exceptional customer care. Demonstrate how Cepheid products can impact healthcare organizations and assist customers in understanding and utilizing the clinical benefits of Cepheid technology.

Job Purpose: Integrate Cepheid Systems, Connectivity Solutions, and assays into customer laboratories, supporting evaluation, implementation, and accreditation processes for a smooth Go Live. Conduct demonstrations and training on Cepheid Systems, Connectivity Solutions, software, and reagents. Develop account strategies with Sales to rapidly increase Cepheid business. Present at customer sites, trade shows, and workshops to promote Cepheid technology. Contribute to the development and optimization of Cepheid solutions. Maintain updated territory information, including installation and training records, site visits, and expenses. Participate in technical material development and ensure all customer-facing technical content is current. Provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and de-installations to ensure efficient system operation. Manage all aspects of field support, including hardware, software, networking, inventory management, and spare parts. Stay informed about healthcare guidelines, economic studies, and protocols affecting the business and communicate relevant information to stakeholders. Follow standard procedures for documentation, customer complaints, support, and reporting in SFDC. Maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure high satisfaction and system performance. Support the sales team in pre- and post-sale technical activities within KSA to grow the diagnostic product user base.

Training Responsibilities: Complete all assigned training satisfactorily and on time. For managers, ensure team members complete required training as well.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biochemistry, or relevant field (Master's preferred). At least 5 years of relevant experience in Virology/Microbiology Laboratory work or Clinical Laboratory Science in a hospital or commercial lab. Experience in PCR, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Oncology, or Virology is essential. Laboratory experience in patient sample collection, sample preparation, and diagnostic equipment/software is preferred. Proficiency in Arabic is mandatory; fluency in English is preferred.

Other Requirements: Ability to spend 75-80% of time onsite with customers. Valid Saudi driver's license. Limited travel within KSA, with occasional international travel to UAE or France for training. Most work is in a lab environment. Overtime and weekend work may be required for training or events.
