Job description

DESCRIPTION

The Facilities Supervisor – Maintenance will have a significant impact on customer experience. The Supervisor will lead technicians, design solutions for challenges, manage outside contractors, be on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
They will develop plans to achieve engineering departmental goals and be responsible for team leadership, development, and coaching through Performance Management.
This role also leads the technical team in providing reactive and proactive maintenance on all operational equipment and infrastructure within the Amazon Facility.
The role directly impacts site productivity and operational success. Equipment issues can limit capacity and throughput.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Prioritize health & safety in all work, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
2. Perform planned preventative maintenance on all equipment.
3. Respond quickly to breakdowns, communicate effectively, and resolve issues efficiently.
4. Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and providing feedback.
5. Ensure high equipment availability for internal customers.
6. Support and learn from Senior Reliability Engineering Technicians.
7. Manage contractors effectively.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electronics, Automation, or Control Systems Engineering.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in conveyors, automation, or control systems maintenance.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Fault-finding experience within Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and automation systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with conveyor maintenance, motor controllers, and inverters.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Auto-CAD drawing.
• Experience with sortation machines.
• Troubleshooting experience through PLC.
• Understanding of sustainability concepts, energy-saving initiatives, waste management, and best facility practices.
• Knowledge of HVAC, fire systems, electrical, and mechanical systems is a plus.
• Ability to work in a high-volume warehouse environment and respond promptly to breakdowns.
