Overview

An Executive Chef will build the reputation of the hotel by maintaining a talented and creative kitchen brigade, offering an innovative menu, and providing an exceptional culinary experience.

What will I be doing?

As Executive Chef, you are responsible for developing the hotel's reputation through high-quality food production and leading a high-caliber kitchen team. Your tasks include:

  • Leading and developing the kitchen brigade
  • Implementing effective succession planning
  • Creating menus that meet and exceed customer expectations and adhere to brand standards
  • Ensuring consistent high-quality food across all hotel outlets
  • Building positive relationships with guests, team members, contractors, and suppliers
  • Resolving issues promptly among guests and team members
  • Managing department operations including budgeting, forecasting, and waste management
  • Overseeing all kitchen functions—operational, quality, and administrative
  • Gathering and responding to customer feedback
  • Ensuring resource availability based on business needs
  • Maintaining compliance with legislation in food provision
  • Controlling costs to improve margins without compromising standards
  • Keeping team members informed about menu items, promotions, and events
  • Maintaining effective communication across hotel departments
  • Managing staffing levels and conducting regular communication meetings
  • Handling staff performance issues per company policies
  • Recruiting, training, and developing the kitchen team
  • Adhering to security, fire, health, and food safety regulations
  • Addressing maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues timely
  • Managing financial performance aligned with hotel objectives
  • Reviewing menus regularly to match market trends
  • Being environmentally conscious and managing food wastage
  • Creating and maintaining monthly work schedules compliant with local laws
What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or high-performing Sous Chef in a first-class property
  • Strong leadership skills

  • Multitasking ability and deadline orientation
  • Relevant trade qualification (proof may be required)
