Job Description Summary
The ERM AND Patient Safety Professional collaborate in managing an effective occurrence reporting process within the healthcare organization, ensuring all reported events are thoroughly reviewed, investigated, and actioned. The Professional collaborates with various departments to identify and implement safety improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Professional identifies educational needs related to patient safety and risk management and based on it promotes hospital.-wide awareness to all the staff in the organization.

Operational Roles & Responsibilities
• Collaborate with departments to identify and implement safety improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with all relevant services within the hospital to identify educational needs related to patient safety and risk management and educate hospital staff including senior management and medical staff on these topics
• Perform the duties necessary to support and achieve risk management and patient safety needs and standards and ensure that the facility is in compliance with all government and local laws and accreditation standards
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures and Perform other assigned tasks and duties
• Promotes hospitalwide awareness of risk management and patient safety concepts and encourages participation and involvement
• Educates hospital staff including senior management and medical staff on patient safety and risk management as assigned
• Document monitor and analyze patient safety events Contribute to the creation of action plans to prevent reoccurrence
• Manage the event reporting process as designed within the hospital ensure all reported events are analyzed reviewed corrected and actioned
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, nursing, or any healthcare science/ allied health.
Professional Certifications Required
REQUIRED:
Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
PREFERRED:
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) / or Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM).
Years of Experience
Minimum 4 years clinical working experience within an accredited healthcare facility, with 1.-3 years focused in quality improvement.
