Job Description:

Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy environment at Care National Hospital, contributing to high-quality patient care, safe premises for visitors, and a good working and housing environment for staff.

Ensures proper implementation of policies and procedures related to Environmental Health, Risk Management, and Safety.

Coordinates with relevant departments to ensure compliance with established policies based on international standards.

Ensures the safety of all staff in the Operations Services Department during their duties.

Manages the Medical Waste Management Program in accordance with national laws and regulations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote high-quality medical treatment with compassion and understanding for every patient.
  • Plan, organize, and implement the hospital's risk management program.
  • Review risk management reports and share findings with relevant sections.
  • Analyze critical event reports with the Q.I Director and determine preventive actions based on root cause analysis.
  • Share risk identification information with clinical and administrative committees.
  • Coordinate with staff and section heads on Facility Management and Safety areas:
  • Safety and Security
  • Ensure hospital buildings, grounds, and equipment are hazard-free.
  • Protect against loss, destruction, tampering, or unauthorized access.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials safely.
  • Plan and respond effectively to epidemics, disasters, and emergencies.
  • Maintain fire safety measures to protect property and occupants.
  • Ensure medical equipment is safe, maintained, and properly used.
  • Maintain utility systems to prevent failures.
  • Intervene or stop unsafe processes or activities and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with infection control to meet environmental infection control guidelines.
  • Promote efficient energy, water, sanitation, and air quality management.
  • Provide in-service training on environmental health, safety, and risk management.
  • Oversee cleaning, disinfection, and decontamination procedures following approved protocols.
  • Offer ongoing staff training on procedures and technological updates.
  • Report non-compliance, achievements, and action plans to the Director of Operations Services monthly.
  • Prepare monthly reports on environmental health, risk management, and safety indicators, including root cause analyses and improvement plans.
  • Report any difficulties in task execution to the Director promptly.

Qualifications:

Education:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health or equivalent.

Desirable

Good academic record; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Required

  • At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or similar setting.
  • Experience in hospital facilities is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
