# Environmental Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Health and Safety professionals who pride themselves on delivering exceptional customer service and leading teams to ensure compliance with top-quality food and beverage standards through prompt, accurate, and personalized service.

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Establish, implement, and maintain the EHS and food safety management system in accordance with HACCP/ISO standards and local and international regulations.
  2. Report to top management on the EHS and food safety management system status, with recommendations for improvement.
  3. Lead or participate in EHS/HACCP/ISO/Sustainability/OHSMS audits, guiding conformance and corrective actions.
  4. Ensure compliance with food safety, occupational safety, and environmental regulations through audits and trend evaluations.
  5. Participate in incident investigations, document root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  6. Monitor changes in relevant regulations and update internal policies accordingly.
  7. Drive improvement by tracking EHS goals, conducting training, and performing inspections.
  8. Ensure supplier and contractor compliance through audits and communication.
  9. Manage EHS and food safety documentation and reports.
  10. Collaborate on corporate social responsibility initiatives and oversee the implementation of Rotana Earth programs.
  11. Operate in a manner that protects guests’ and employees’ health and safety and conserves the environment.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
  1. Develop and review OHSMS manuals, policies, and procedures.
  2. Lead the implementation and monitor the OHS system through inspections and meetings.
  3. Ensure all new employees receive OHS training relevant to their tasks.
  4. Report on OHSMS performance to management and regulatory authorities.
  5. Update and communicate legal requirements and conduct audits to ensure compliance.
  6. Perform risk assessments and implement control measures.
Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

Must have a college/university degree in Health, Hygiene, or Quality Management with a minimum of one year of relevant experience, preferably in the Middle East. Proficiency in computer skills and effective communication in English is required; Arabic language skills are preferred.

Knowledge & Competencies

The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-driven, charismatic, and approachable. Able to work under pressure, a team player, and capable of working with diverse teams and guests. Additional competencies include understanding hotel operations, effective communication, planning, supervising, teamwork, adaptability, customer focus, and results orientation.
