BAE Systems Detica offers an exciting opportunity as an English Language Teacher responsible for conducting English language training and course administration. You will develop learning materials, assess student progress, and ensure the integrity and professionalism of course delivery. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in a relevant field, teaching qualifications, and strong interpersonal skills, along with experience in a similar environment.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of English language training of students for BAES SDT at TINS which includes classroom delivery, placement and progress testing / marking, materials selection, preparation and development, syllabus development, implementation of courses and record keeping.
The post holder will co-ordinate with his SELT concerning all aspects of course administration and implementation.
Responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for:
selecting and developing appropriate course material to match students abilities and requirements,
independently delivering training courses and carrying out the associated administration,
providing continuous assessment of students learning progress,
documenting work as necessary attendance / progress reports / lesson plans / schemes of work /assessment plans,
developing learning materials to improve the required skills, and knowledge of grammar and vocabulary,
ensuring that all reports are completed and submitted to the SELT in a timely manner.
The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.
Job Requirements:
The post holder must:
be degree qualified (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject (preferably English or modern languages),
for SN instructors, either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education in English Language
have an CELTA or equivalent, DELTA preferred,
have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a company or language school, Middle East experience preferred,
have proven capability in delivering English language training,
be a good team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills,
be fluent in English (minimum IELTS 6.5 for a Saudi post holder, achieved within the last 2 years),
have experience of delivering IELTS preparation courses / as an IELTS Examiner,
demonstrate high levels of cultural sensitivity.
The post holder should:
have knowledge and experience of different EL methodologies and associated techniques,
have experience in delivering Technical English training in a technical training institution,
have knowledge and experience of developing materials,
have experience and knowledge of CALL Lab activities and software,
have experience of using interactive media for teaching,
have experience of delivering training to a military customer, or a customer in a regulated environment.
