ENGINEERING MANAGER HOSPITALITY

• Senior position Reporting to project Technical Director
• Industrious, Self-starter required to work under own initiative
• Dammam based, Immediate start
• Min 12+ years of experience with previous construction experience preferred
• Should be familiar with multi-discipline hotel/building design
• Preference for candidate also familiar with Saudi regulations incl design codes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Organizing Activities:

• Establishes priorities and supporting the wider Engineering team members ensuring optimum allocation of resources to support projects
• Works with key stakeholders and departments structuring activities and resources so overall objectives are met
• Communicates management plans and project activities and ESG goals
• Evaluates and streamlines business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
• Manage cross-functional links to other Technical Services (Architecture and Construction) departments
• Adheres to measurements of engineering performance standards to ensure overall effectiveness
• Develop plans to implement long term goals for ESG and AD&C department

Directing Activities:

• Oversee the development and administration of the agreed engineering standards
• Communicates important information to team members
• Influences department members to achieve Project objectives
• Executes organizational directives and encourages achievement of goals through motivation, communication and leadership
• Manages third parties, identifies vendors and monitors cost and quality of service
• Leverages effective partnerships with third parties and internal constituents
• Advises management on progress and advise on key performance issues
• Conduct detailed design reviews
• Report on reviews
• Witnessing commissioning and undertaking checks for signing off on engineering systems.
• Report writing, Project Overviews and Final Project Sustainability reporting

Controlling Activities:

• Oversee proper controls and systems to ensure compliance with the agreed engineering standards
• Ensure established performance standards are met for department or project
• Assesses actual performance to ensure success and takes corrective actions
• Enforces policies and procedures to improve overall operations and effectiveness

Applicants will have the following skills / experience:

• MEP Design knowledge and practice with project management involving witnessing and commissioning on systems
• Sustainability knowledge in design
• Good understanding of regulations within relevant countries and infrastructure challenges across the region.
• Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information
• Ability to take the initiative to identify, prioritize and implement actions required to achieve functional goals
• Strong problem-solving skills including ability to address any issue in collaboration with others, identify and prevent potential problems and develop problem solving skills in others
• Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple and concurrent demands
• Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner to stay on track to achieve common goals
• Proficient in design engineering skills and ability to quickly learn new programs and train others
• Capable of conversing with both technical and non-technical parties
• Experience in dealing with developers, Owners and other corporate clients

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or civil engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 12+ years of experience
• Proven experience working on hospitality developments in the KSA/UAE or GCC region
• Recognized professional qualification in engineering or similar construction related discipline
• Significant previous work experience in related Advanced hotel development and construction related experience ideally within an international hotel group

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree preferred
• Substantial hospitality industry experience preferred in similar roles
• In-depth knowledge of hotel and general leisure engineering systems and design
• Supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Autocad
