About the Role
We are looking for a technically skilled and proactive Engineering Assistant Manager to join the pre-opening team at Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring all engineering systems and infrastructure are ready for the resort's successful opening and seamless operations thereafter. You will assist in leading the engineering team through setup, testing, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance activities, upholding Four Seasons' world-class service and operational excellence standards. The role also involves supervising daily maintenance activities, coordinating schedules, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting the development of preventive and corrective maintenance strategies.
What You Will Do
Support the review of design specifications, technical drawings, and system installations for operational readiness during the pre-opening phase.
Actively participate in commissioning, snagging, system testing, and handover processes for all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and HVAC systems.
Assist in setting up and maintaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Hotsos) and asset management records.
Oversee procurement, inventory tagging, and the organization of engineering tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment.
Establish and document preventive maintenance schedules and ensure life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency generators) are fully operational and compliant.
Coordinate closely with contractors to ensure successful technical handovers and project closeouts.
Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training the engineering team to ensure readiness and operational excellence.
Develop energy management plans and sustainability initiatives aligned with Four Seasons standards.
Prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency response plans, and departmental operational guidelines.
Supervise daily maintenance operations, ensuring timely and high-quality task completion by the technical team.
Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure facility standards are upheld.
Monitor critical systems to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency.
Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians, providing coaching, technical training, and performance feedback.
Ensure compliance with local regulatory codes, safety standards, and Four Seasons quality standards.
Collaborate closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, water leaks, and system failures to minimize operational disruptions.
Support financial management activities, including departmental budgeting, purchasing, and cost control.
What You Bring
A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum 2 years of engineering leadership experience in luxury hotels or resorts, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant management role.
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, fire life safety systems, and sustainability initiatives.
Previous pre-opening experience in setting up and commissioning hotel/resort facilities is highly preferred.
Familiarity with energy management systems and sustainability practices.
Strong organizational, leadership, and project management skills.
Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a strong advantage.
