An exciting opportunity is available for an Engineer, Automation, based in Riyadh.


Summary:

The Electronic “Automation” Engineer Professional is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and systems/components in industrial settings/field. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electronic theory and design principles, designing new components to troubleshoot and repair existing equipment, and electronic engineering principles and a proven track record of success in the industrial field.


Responsible for routine electronic maintenance of moderate complexity, while maintaining the availability of plant machinery and equipment of the company, performing preventive and corrective maintenance in order to keep in full operation, in accordance with standards and procedures of quality, safety, and environment. Able to sign off tasks on major and minor activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Study, design, develop, install, and maintain electronic components, systems, and software for industrial applications/settings.
  • Work with other engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and repair electronic systems and develop and implement new technologies.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment, motherboard, PLC cards, and CPU.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest electronic engineering & technologies trends.
  • Contribute to the development of new products and services.
  • Ensure equipment, materials, and tools are on-hand for work execution and request materials needed.
  • Support planning activities, providing necessary material to carry out electronic/system maintenance activities.
  • Maintain and update electronic documentation.
  • Prepare technical, study, monthly reports, and presentations.
  • All planned maintenance tasks (scheduled & emergent) relevant to rotating and ancillary equipment.
  • Use engineering drawings and sketches with equipment specifications in the carry-out of basic maintenance activities.
  • Locate and diagnose electronic faults on equipment involving complex interlocking or inter-related electronic/electrical actions.
  • Guide technically less experienced technicians to carry out electronic/electrical activities.
  • Use a comprehensive range of hand tools, measuring instruments, and workshop machine tools for taking measurements of vibration, frequency, and other basic measurements in electronic equipment.
  • Participate in the preparation of electronics and electrics maintenance programs and/or programming of activities in the area.
  • Install electronic/electrical equipment/machinery, may involve numerically controlled electronics, PLC, CPU, electrical, and programming.
  • Execute electronics/electrics activities and maintain, adjust, and set up production or process equipment.
  • Make calculations using workshop math and select appropriate size and grade of components.
  • Maintain, adjust, and set up programming production or process equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE standards/requirements.
  • Manage and supervise a team of electronics/electrics technical professionals.
  • Perform preventive maintenance with analysis and other types of maintenance as corrective, emergency, etc.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:
•Bachelor’s or Diploma Degree.
•Minimum of 3 years experience with a bachelor's degree or minimum of 8 years with a Diploma degree in the same field.


Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of electronic and automation theory and troubleshooting and design principles.
  • Experience with electronic testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PLC & CPU testing, design, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition).
  • Experience in Siemens and Mitsubishi systems of electronics and PLC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with SAP system.
  • Experience with electronic design automation (EDA) software.
  • Fluency in English language with excellent communication (written & oral) skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
