Objective of the Role To provide prompt, high-quality, and evidence-based medical care to patients presenting with acute illness or injury in the Emergency Department. The Emergency Medicine Specialist plays a critical role in triage, diagnosis, and stabilization, working in a fast-paced environment to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform initial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department. Deliver life-saving interventions and lead resuscitation and trauma management when necessary. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including ICU, surgery, and radiology, for timely patient referrals and admissions. Supervise and guide junior doctors, residents, and nurses, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards. Interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, CT scans, and laboratory results to support clinical decision-making. Maintain accurate patient documentation, reports, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record system. Participate in regular clinical audits, emergency drills, and quality improvement initiatives. Remain updated on current emergency care guidelines and participate in continuous professional development. Interactions & Collaboration Internal: Collaborates closely with ICU, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and inpatient departments. External: May interact with family members, ambulance services, and public health authorities during critical or public health cases.
