The American International School - Riyadh is seeking an energetic and dedicated full-time Elementary School Office Administrative Assistant for the 2025-2026 school year. Qualifications & Criteria:
- Candidate must be a legal resident of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a holder of a valid iqama.
- The candidate must be a dependent under spouse sponsorship (AIS-R cannot accept parent sponsorships).
- 4 year Bachelor's Degree required.
- A proven record of excellence in prior Administrative posts for a minimum of two years.
- Proficiency in both English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
- Exemplary business English including grammar, punctuation, and correct spelling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and task-oriented.
- Excellent use of the Google Suite and database software.
- Demonstrated proficiency with public contact including telephone skills.
- Able to start work August 5, 2025.
- Understands and committed to AIS-R work hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (5:00pm on Tuesdays).
Reports to: Elementary School Principal and Associate Principal(s).
The Understandings, Skills, Values, and Mindset of the ES Administrative Assistant are:
- Maintains a positive professional working relationship with all staff.
- Assists school leadership and counselors with various tasks as required.
- Maintains accurate attendance records to include daily attendance, late arriving students, and early departure.
- Oversees and orients substitutes as needed.
- Organizes annual school and class photo schedules in collaboration with the Communications Design Manager.
- Prepares daily communication as needed.
- Communicates with organizations outside of AIS-R to support enrichment and co-curricular activities;
- Checks out and inventories building keys.
- Oversees faculty/staff attendance records via leave tracking timesheets and general ES work orders.
- Uses word processing and data skills in a variety of formats to maintain faculty and staff timesheets/records, student enrollment/withdrawals, and update staff and student handbooks.
- Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed and puts it into usable form.
- Maintains filing systems and processes incoming correspondence as instructed.
- Places and receives telephone calls and accurately records messages.
- Orders and maintains supplies as needed.
- Welcomes visitors and screens unexpected callers in accordance with predetermined procedures.
- Assists children with their transportation after dismissal by contacting parents.
- Performs other administrative and support-related tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the ES Administrators.
Terms of Employment and Compensation:
Salary will be assigned from the Classified Salary Schedule; the contract term will be 200 days. AIS-R contracts are renewable annually in May of each school year following the successful completion of the 180-day probationary period and annual performance appraisal.
200-Day Contracted employees: 200-day contracts apply to all Office Assistants. The AIS-R Master Calendar specifically outlines the 190-day contracts of AIS-R Faculty and Staff Members (excluding those on a 200+ day contract), with specific additional days (10 days) that apply to 200-day contracted employees. Days of responsibility include, but are not limited to, additional days at the start of the year, weekend days, and days at the end of the year to make up a 200-day contract. Administrative Associate responsibilities could include occasional work after hours or during school holidays, as needed.
- Annual starting basic salary (non-negotiable): SR 96,364.00
- Annual Transportation Allowance (non-negotiable): SR 18,000
- Total first-year monthly salary + transportation: SR 9,530
