- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures on marine vessels.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with marine electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on switchboards, lighting systems, motors, transformers, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of new electrical systems on vessels during construction or retrofit projects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and compliance documentation.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic navigation equipment, communication devices, power packs, and safety systems onboard.
- Attend all port calls and on-hire inspections to ensure vessel electrical readiness.
- Respond promptly to vessel breakdowns related to electrical systems and equipment.
- Assist the purchasing department in sourcing and arranging spare parts required by vessels.
- Be available on call 24/7 to handle urgent electrical issues as they arise
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 1 year in the marine industry.
- Valid Marine Electrical Certification or equivalent.
- Proficient in using electrical testing tools such as multimeters, insulation testers, and clamp meters.
- Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure, including offshore or at sea assignments.
- Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; hands-on experience with electrical and electronic systems onboard vessels.
- Willingness to relocate to different job sites or projects as required.
- Computer literate with the ability to maintain electronic logs and documentation.
- Caterpillar Engine certificate or relevant workshop experience is mandatory.
- ITI certified (national or international certification preferred)
