Requirements

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team and ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance across our electrical installations. This role is critical in overseeing and inspecting low and medium voltage electrical systems, as well as ICT (Information and Communication Technology) installations, to verify that all work aligns with technical specifications, project requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.

As an Electrical Inspector, you will play a key role in maintaining quality assurance throughout the lifecycle of electrical infrastructure development — from initial setup to commissioning. This is a field-based role requiring sharp attention to detail, technical acumen, and a thorough understanding of modern electrical safety codes and installation practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site inspections of low and medium voltage electrical systems, including wiring, switchgear, transformers, panels, and distribution boards.
  • Inspect ICT installations, including structured cabling, communication racks, and network hardware, to ensure they meet design specifications and safety regulations.
  • Verify that all installations comply with local and international electrical codes and project-specific standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to resolve issues and ensure timely execution of electrical work.
  • Monitor on-site electrical activities to ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed and that risks are mitigated.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and punch lists, noting any non-conformities or deviations from the approved drawings.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and installation plans to ensure proper execution.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities of electrical systems, ensuring full functionality before system handover.
  • Attend progress meetings and provide updates on inspection outcomes, compliance issues, and project timelines.
  • Recommend corrective actions or improvements to enhance the quality and safety of electrical installations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • A technical diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in site-based electrical inspection, particularly in low and medium voltage systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical safety codes, installation standards, and compliance requirements for both residential and commercial infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with testing procedures, commissioning protocols, and documentation standards.
  • Excellent ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills to clearly convey findings and recommendations.
  • Proactive problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail.
  • Certification in safety training and/or electrical inspection (e.g., NEC, IEC standards) is preferred.
  • Proficient with inspection and documentation tools, MS Office, and report-writing
