Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Inspector to join our Western Region Distribution Department's (WRDD) Inspection Unit (IU) of the Engineering Division.

The Western Region Distribution Department provides refined products such as diesel, jet fuel, and gasoline (91 & 95) for local markets.

Your primary role involves inspecting, designing, testing, failure evaluation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical and cathodic protection systems across facilities within the Western Region Distribution Department.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be required to:

  • Provide design packages for cathodic protection system upgrades for tanks (externally & internally), buried pipelines, road crossings, fire hydrants, and marine structures.
  • Perform electrical inspection surveys for battery banks, UPS systems, generators, motors, MOVs, substations, switch racks, transformers, cable tray systems, conduit systems, enclosures, junction boxes, grounding systems, lightning protection, and lighting systems.
  • Conduct cathodic protection inspection surveys for rectifiers, anode junction boxes, tanks, vessels, pipelines, road crossings, fire hydrants, and marine structures.
  • Prepare comprehensive electrical and cathodic protection inspection survey reports and share them within organizational guidelines.
  • Report electrical and cathodic protection findings to the operation foreman and issue defect notifications via SAP/SAIF systems.
  • Analyze failures in electrical and cathodic protection systems and troubleshoot to restore service, providing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Perform spot checks on plant maintenance and repair activities on critical electrical equipment.
  • Review and create Equipment Inspection Schedules (EIS) for electrical and cathodic protection equipment, ensuring no overdue inspections.
  • Conduct pre-T&I (Test & Inspection) surveys, prepare observations and recommendations, and monitor T&I activities.
  • Review standards and procedures, providing feedback during revision cycles.
  • Conduct annual checks on electrical testing instruments per ANSI/NETA standards.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited program; a Master's in Operation Management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, including at least 10 years in electrical and cathodic protection system inspection.
  • Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • NACE or AMPP certification is required.
  • QMS ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, IOSH Managing Safely, and ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor certifications are required.
