A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for the Oil & Gas sector in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering and extensive experience in electrical projects. Responsibilities include developing design packages, conducting studies, and reviewing engineering designs. This role requires knowledge of international standards and the ability to provide training to junior engineers.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, with the ability to develop design packages and conduct studies for electrical systems. Must have full knowledge of international standards and best practices such as NEC and IEEE.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience in electrical engineering projects, including design, maintenance, assessments, studies, investigations, analysis, optimization, troubleshooting, detailed reports, and technical evaluations.
In-depth knowledge of power overhead lines, transformers, generators, solar power, battery chargers, battery banks, cathodic protection, heat traces, pumps, motors, air blowers, power distribution, electrical systems in buildings, power metering, electrical cables, material selection, system sizing, and power optimization solutions.
Design or study electrical modifications for oil & gas facilities, residences, and utilities; design electrical aspects of new facilities.
Share electrical engineering knowledge, provide training to young engineers, plan, monitor, and improve energy management and efficiency programs, and develop power reliability programs to monitor system performance and reliability.
Review engineering design packages related to electrical aspects, material selection, and cost minimization; issue design packages for anode monitoring and cathodic protection systems.
Conduct electrical surveys, assessments, and audits on assets related to DC battery systems, cathodic protection, and solar systems; develop continuous improvement solutions for electrical challenges.
Develop specifications and datasheets for electrical equipment such as EHV GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, large motors, HV/LV switchgears, cables, bus ducts, GIBs, UPS, battery chargers, NGRs, and panels.
Participate in electrical power system studies including short circuit, load flow, motor starting, arc flash hazard, relay coordination, and setting using ETAP software; develop and review calculations for grounding, earthing, battery sizing, transformer sizing, cable sizing, load schedules, lighting, etc.
Develop and review single-line diagrams, protection schemes, motor schematics, equipment layouts, cable routing, lighting, grounding, area classification, substation automation, and bus changeover schemes.
Contribute to standards development through technical committees, interpret standards and industry codes (NFPA, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, API, NEC, NACE), and recommend cost-effective changes.
IEEE membership.
Design, development, testing, and management of electrical equipment, including motors, navigation systems, power generation, and vehicle components. Technological expertise, active learning, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, mathematical, physics skills, and innovative thinking.
