Roles and responsibilities:-
Design, Installation & Maintenance:
- Design and oversee the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment and systems (e.g., HVAC, cleanroom systems, automated machinery, generators, UPS).
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
Support Manufacturing Operations:
- Ensure electrical systems support continuous and validated pharmaceutical production.
- Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize machine performance
Automation & Control Systems:
- Manage and program PLCs, SCADA, and HMI systems used in process control and building management.
- Support automation in packaging, filling, and labeling equipment.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO, and local electrical safety codes.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, calibration records, and validation protocols.
Energy Management & Sustainability:
- Monitor energy usage and suggest efficiency improvements.
- Implement energy-saving projects in alignment with company sustainability goals.
Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
- Conduct risk assessments and support HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) initiatives.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards (NFPA, OSHA, IEC, etc.).
- Implement lockout/tagout procedures and maintain Arc Flash safety protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Coordinate with:
- Maintenance teams for repairs and servicing.
- QA/QC to ensure system integrity and data reliability.
- Validation/Engineering departments for equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- IT/OT teams for the integration of systems with enterprise software.
Project Involvement:
- Participate in capital projects for new production lines or facility expansions.
- Prepare technical specs, evaluate vendor proposals, and supervise contractors.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Technical Skills
- Control Systems Design: Good knowledge in designing and implementing control systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
- Electrical Design: Knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution, wiring, and circuit design.
- Instrumentation and Automation: Expertise in selecting and configuring sensors, actuators, and control devices.
- Process Control: Understanding of process control principles and methodologies, including PID control.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with software tools, AutoCAD, and PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
Soft Skills
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating with other engineers, scientists, and production staff.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Industry Knowledge
- Pharmaceutical Regulations: Understanding of industry regulations (e.g., FDA, GMP) and compliance requirements.
- Safety Standards: Familiarity with electrical safety standards and practices in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Industry Experience: 5 Years of previous experience in the pharmaceuticals industry or equivalent.
- Hands-On Experience: 5 years of practical experience with electrical systems, control systems, and automation technologies.
