Job description

TAIGC is hiring candidates to serve its clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We work in collaboration with our technology partners to sponsor their state of the art applications to our customers in the field of electrical condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, asset performance management, and reliability.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Introduction

The objective is to design and select a suitable monitoring system based on client needs and asset category, evaluate, and diagnose the electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, predict maintenance needs, and prevent unplanned outages.

2. Objectives

  1. To assess the condition and performance of electrical assets such as transformers, generators, circuit breakers, motors, switchgear, and other critical components.
  2. To identify and diagnose potential faults or failures before they occur.
  3. To select and create predictive maintenance systems and optimize asset management.
  4. To ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for electrical safety.

3. Scope of Services

3.1. Equipment to be Monitored The following electrical equipment and systems will be monitored:

  • Power Transformers
  • Switchgear
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Motors & Drives
  • Generators & UPS Systems
  • Cables and Busbars
  • Electrical Distribution Systems

3.2. Monitoring Techniques and Tools The following techniques and tools will be utilized:

  • Thermal: Using thermal sensors to detect overheating or faults in electrical components.
  • Vibration Monitoring: To assess mechanical condition of rotating equipment such as motors and generators.
  • Partial Discharge Testing: To detect electrical discharges and insulation breakdown in high-voltage equipment.
  • Ultrasonic Testing: For detecting issues in electrical components through sound wave analysis.
  • Oil and Gas Analysis: For transformers and other oil-filled equipment to check for contaminants, moisture, and degradation.
  • Current and Voltage Monitoring: To assess electrical load, harmonics, and overall system stability.
  • Power Quality Analysis: Monitoring for voltage fluctuations, frequency variation, power factor, etc.

Education and Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Electrical Engineering
  • Former substations maintenance hands-on training
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in plant maintenance.
  • Knowledge of substation assets, and its inspection methodologies.
  • Certification in vibration is a plus.
  • Practice of condition monitoring techniques is a plus.
  • Lube oil analysis experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge in acoustic emissions is a plus.
  • Experience in electrical facilities and/or substations.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial, critical, manufacturing, labs, or distribution facility types required.
  • Proven ability to read, comprehend and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials.
  • Ability to make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete.
  • Ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
  • Ability to balance multiple requirements.
  • Able to interpret how the organizational goals and strategy translate into service or departmental activity.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to manipulate large amounts of data accurately using different spreadsheet formats.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with implementing them.
  • Ability to engage with client/team stakeholders.

Experience

1–3 years of related experience.
