As an Electrical Design Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant development of electrical systems within industrial service operations.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves :
- Design, develop, and review electrical systems and layouts for industrial and facility projects.
- Ensure all electrical designs meet applicable local and international safety codes and standards.
- Conduct technical evaluations and risk assessments of electrical designs to identify potential hazards.
- Integrate fire protection and safety systems into electrical designs as required.
- Collaborate with project and safety teams to ensure FLS (Fire Life Safety) requirements are embedded into facility electrical systems.
- Apply PF (Personal Fall) safety considerations where relevant in electrical system designs, particularly for maintenance access.
- Support installation teams by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues on-site.
- Perform design calculations, simulations, and validation tests to ensure system performance and safety.
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for project submissions and regulatory approvals.
- Continuously update designs based on technological advancements, regulatory changes, and operational feedback.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design.
- Solid understanding of PF technology and its integration in engineering operations (especially in design considerations for maintenance safety).
- Knowledge of Fire Fighting Engineering systems and how to integrate them into electrical layouts.
- Experience working with FLS (Fire Life Safety) requirements and ensuring compliance through design.
- Familiarity with local and international electrical and safety codes (such as NFPA, IEC, NEC).
- Strong background in conducting technical risk assessments for electrical projects.
- Proficiency in using electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certification in safety standards (like NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical safety, or equivalent) is a plus.
