As an Electrical Design Coordinator , your key role is to lead design coordination activities between designers, manufacturers, and clients to ensure all project deliverables meet technical specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Key Accountabilities
• Oversee and coordinate detailed primary designs, including earthing systems, busbar arrangements, switchgear layouts, cable routing, and cable tray plans.
• Lead design coordination activities among internal design teams, equipment manufacturers, and clients, especially within the Saudi market, to confirm that systems comply with project specifications, international standards (IEC, IEEE), and local codes.
• Review and verify protection and control schematic diagrams, relay coordination strategies, systems studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination), and incorporate the results into detailed layouts, cable routing, and earthing designs.
• Facilitate communication between designers, vendors, and clients to resolve technical issues, clarify specifications, and ensure design accuracy and compliance, with an emphasis on the Saudi market.
• Develop, review, and approve detailed drawings, including layouts, cable routing, earthing schemes, and installation plans.
• Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor drawings and specifications, ensuring adherence to project standards and client requirements.
• Ensure all electrical designs align with international standards, local regulations, safety practices, and project-specific documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, coordinating technical inputs, and managing deviations or design changes, with particular focus on client specifications for SEC, Aramco, and Maaden projects.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design calculations, diagrams, coordination reports, and as-built data.
• Assisted in site assessments, construction supervision, and commissioning activities to confirm that installed systems met design intent.
• Perform technical risk assessments and resolve conflicts related to system integration, protection schemes, and layout configurations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We Are Looking For:
• Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8-12 years of experience in electrical substation design, including primary and secondary protection, earthing, and cable layouts.
• Proven expertise in coordinating between designers, equipment vendors, and clients to meet project specifications, especially within the Saudi market.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC 61850, IEEE, local Saudi standards) and safety requirements.
• Experience working on projects for the SEC, Aramco, and Maaden will be a significant advantage.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit), protection and system study software (ETAP, SKM, CYME).
• Excellent communication, technical coordination, and problem-solving skills.
