Position Summary

This position is based at the NEOM Power Elements Project Site, working an 8 x 2 weeks’ rotational schedule. It is part of the AIR PRODUCTS NEOM Green Hydrogen Project (NGHP) – Power Elements (PWE) team. The incumbent will oversee specific site areas to ensure contractor EH&S requirements meet project and AIR PRODUCTS standards, working closely with the Construction Manager and EPC contractors.


The candidate should:

  • Have detailed knowledge of EH&S requirements and best practices related to construction and pre-commissioning safety.
  • Possess extensive experience in Project/Construction Management within the EPC sector.
  • Have knowledge of Overhead Transmission, Wind Power, or Solar Facilities.
  • Specialize in documentation, investigation, and EHS audit processes.
Nature and Scope
  • Power Element OHTL involves erecting over 300 km of transmission lines, substations, and transformers for green hydrogen production.
  • Power Element Wind includes installing over 250 turbines across 200 km², with associated civil works.
  • Power Element Solar involves installing 5.6 million solar panels, inverters, and pooling stations over a 46.31 km² area.
Project Details
  • Location: NEOM, Saudi Arabia
  • Duration: Approximately 36 months from 08/2022
  • On-site personnel: 5,000 to 6,000 at peak
Principal Accountabilities

The role includes implementing the EH&S Plan, promoting a safety culture, overseeing contractor activities, reviewing safety documentation, leading safety campaigns, and supporting emergency response plans.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • EHS Degree or 7+ years of EHS leadership in EPC/Construction in Power/Oil/Gas sectors.
  • Safety certifications (OSHA, IOSH, or similar).
  • 10+ years of international mega-project experience, with at least 7 years in EH&S supervisory roles.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge in construction safety, with specialization in areas like Power, High Voltage, Wind, or Solar.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
Advantages
  • Experience in construction management, EPC projects, and industrial gas projects, especially in KSA.
  • Experience with EH&S in transmission lines, solar, wind, and electrical facilities.
  • Skills in root cause analysis, EH&S reporting, and conducting audits.
  • Possession of a driving license suitable for desert/off-road conditions.
