PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Assist the EHS Manager in implementing, developing, and monitoring EHS policies and procedures to achieve objectives, targets, and maintain legal compliance.
  2. Provide EHS advice, guidance, and coaching to the plant team, supporting sustainable compliance with all EHS requirements.
  3. Conduct regular checks and inspections, preparing related reports.
  4. Perform behavioral safety observations and support the development of the site Behavior Safety (BS) program.
  5. Monitor compliance on the shop floor (PPEs, KSBs, SWPs, etc.) and address immediate actions or escalate as needed.
  6. Ensure all works (non-routine, critical, third-party) are performed under appropriate permits to work.
  7. Review and update all EHS communication tools (monitors, notice boards, signs) and report or fix issues like damages or outdated information.
  8. Ensure readiness of all EHS systems (alarms, firefighting, fire suppression, emergency lights, CCTV) and take immediate actions in case of malfunctions.
  9. Participate actively in risk assessments, accident investigations, communication, planning, Rewards & Recognition, Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPRP), inspections, and audits as assigned.
  10. Promote positive behaviors and practices.
  11. Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of EHS systems and procedures (SSOW, SWPs, SOPs).
  12. Handle emerging situations and other responsibilities assigned by the manager that align with the main purpose of the role.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

Take immediate corrective actions, including stopping or ceasing activities or closing areas in case of violations or concerns affecting OHS.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong people management skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills (root-cause analysis, action planning).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders without direct reporting relationships.
  • Recognized EHS qualification; preferably NEBOSH IGC and Environmental Management certification, along with Ministry requirements.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages and computer literacy.
  • Ability to support others to understand and meet requirements.
