Job Responsibilities

Training & Communication

Develop and manage a comprehensive EHS training needs assessment for Middle East operations.

Create and maintain an EHS training matrix covering all employee levels, from leadership to shop floor personnel.

Collaborate with global EHS teams to design and deliver both classroom and e-learning modules for regulatory and company-specific programs.

Implement reinforcement strategies to sustain EHS awareness and knowledge retention.

Lead the deployment of consistent EHS communications across Middle East facilities.

Organize and participate in regular safety committee meetings to foster engagement and compliance.

EHS Systems Management

Ensure effective implementation and usage of global EHS systems for incident reporting, compliance audits, and risk assessments.

Act as the regional subject matter expert on EHS systems, contributing to system training, user education, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop standardized responses and documentation to support EHS-related customer inquiries and audits.

Provide support for customer-driven assessments, surveys, and compliance evaluations.

Metrics & Performance Management

Analyze safety performance metrics, including both leading and lagging indicators, to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Build business cases for proposed safety initiatives and drive their implementation across the region.

Regulatory Compliance

Assist with EHS compliance audits at regional sites, including planning, on-site participation, and follow-up on corrective actions.

Conduct regulatory reviews and liaise with relevant government authorities to ensure compliance with permitting, licensing, and reporting requirements.

Support incident investigations by leading root cause analyses, defining corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring timely closure of all issues.

Promote and share key learnings from incidents across the organization to drive continuous improvement.

Champion a strong safety culture through leadership visibility, employee engagement, coaching, and reinforcement of safe behaviors.

Candidate Experience & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, CSP) are a plus.

Willingness and ability to travel frequently (50–60%) throughout the Middle East and North Africa to provide on-site support.

Strong understanding of EHS risks, control measures, and compliance considerations in heavy industrial and rotating equipment environments.

Proven experience in developing and managing training programs and communication strategies.

Strong knowledge of Middle Eastern EHS regulations and global best practices.

Familiarity with EHS management systems (incident tracking, audits, compliance platforms).

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety metrics and drive data-based decisions.
