Job Title: Egress Technician

Job Purpose

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

Job Accountabilities

1. Carry out egress maintenance, repairs, and modifications for Tornado aircraft, both on and off the aircraft.
2. Provide support to RSAF as required.
3. Perform major and minor egress maintenance, repairs, modifications, and TCTOs for Tornado aircraft.
4. Ensure the quality and completeness of the work carried out or signed off on aircraft or aircraft components, in accordance with approved data.
5. Work within the requirements of the TSS Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and RSAF Technical Orders.
6. Complete maintenance paperwork, aircraft forms, records, and documentation in both hard and electronic formats.
7. Safeguard TSS programme timescales in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
8. Identify areas of inexperience or training needs for oneself and others.
9. Provide on-the-job and theoretical training for trainees.
10. Deputise for the Egress supervisor if required.

Recruitment Specification

1. Extensive experience in the trade specialty or repair and modification on Tornado aircraft.
2. Current authorisations for Egress maintenance.
3. Completion of Tornado Egress/Armament Maintenance course.
4. Explosive handling course.
5. Working knowledge of Q-pulse, GOLD, and understanding of M&CA processes.
6. Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
7. Hold a current driving license.
8. Understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to the work area.
9. Understanding of RSAF operations and working practices.
