Company Overview

A leading refining and petrochemical company based in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly experienced Fire Chief to lead and enhance its fire protection and emergency response operations. The company is recognized for its commitment to safety, operational excellence, and environmental stewardship, operating a state-of-the-art refinery and port facilities.

This role is a key leadership position within the Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) division and is integral to maintaining the highest standards of fire safety and emergency preparedness across all operations.

Position Overview

The Fire Chief will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fire protection division, including firefighting, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, emergency planning, training, and facility inspections. The role includes ensuring operational readiness of Emergency Response Plans (ERPs), coordinating with internal and external agencies, and implementing fire prevention and protection strategies that align with national and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all firefighting and fire protection operations across the refinery and port.
  • Develop and continuously improve fire protection policies, systems, and emergency response procedures.
  • Manage emergency response for incidents involving fire, gas leaks, hazardous materials, rescues, and evacuations.
  • Ensure operational readiness of all emergency and fire protection equipment, systems, and personnel.
  • Direct fire incident responses, ensuring safety, effective techniques, and command control.
  • Conduct technical reviews of fire protection systems and review plant layout drawings for fire prevention compliance.
  • Implement regular training for Fire Brigade personnel and Emergency Response Team (ERT), including specialized instruction.
  • Coordinate and lead emergency drills in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies such as JAMA’A.
  • Participate in fire investigations and major incident review committees.
  • Monitor and manage the firefighting budget, resources, and personnel performance.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies in fire protection and integrate relevant innovations.
  • Promote high morale and safety culture within the fire protection team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Science, Fire Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years in firefighting within the refining or petrochemical industry.
  • Certifications: Must be approved by HCIS (High Commission for Industrial Security).
  • Language: Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Technical and Professional Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of firefighting operations in the refining/petrochemical industry.
  • Strong command and leadership skills during emergency incidents and drills.
  • Expertise in hazard identification, risk analysis, crisis management, and injury prevention.

  • Ability to manage high-stress situations and provide clear direction.
