Overview

We are seeking a Refinery Process Engineer specializing in Naphtha Reforming, Penex Isomerization, Platforming, Naphtha Hydrotreating, and Kerosene Hydrotreating to join our Riyadh Refinery within the Operations Engineering Unit.

Riyadh Refinery, located centrally in Saudi Arabia, processes 130,000 BPD of crude oil daily. It comprises various process units, utilities, and water treatment facilities. Our main products include Diesel, Gasoline, Kerosene, LPG, Molten Sulfur, and Asphalt.

Your primary role will be to lead performance improvement programs that enhance process safety, optimize energy and manufacturing costs, increase plant reliability, and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be required to:

  • Review and monitor the performance of Plat, NHT, KHT, and Isom facilities through KPIs, issuing daily reports on deviations and corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports, analyzing KPIs, catalyst and adsorbent performance, and recommending improvements.
  • Conduct catalyst performance analyses, yield estimates, and lifecycle assessments.
  • Identify plant constraints and conduct assessments and debottlenecking studies with licensors and engineering support.
  • Provide technical advice on operation issues, troubleshooting, start-up/shutdown activities, capacity testing, pilot testing, and process design.
  • Lead safety investigations such as HAZOP and RCA.
  • Support implementation of recommendations from performance benchmarking and technical assessments.
  • Develop business cases and engineering packages for modifications and upgrades.
  • Participate in business planning and coordinate capital investments, including techno-economic evaluations.
  • Recommend and oversee deployment of proven technologies in process units.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience with fixed bed Platforming, NHT, KHT, and Isom processes.
  • Experience with different licensor technologies related to naphtha reforming, isomerization, and hydrotreating.
  • Excellent computer and presentation skills.
  • Experience in process simulation, process control, and Advanced Process Control is advantageous.
  • Certified PHA/HAZOP leader preferred.
