Our client is recruiting for a Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineer who will ensure that the instrumentation discipline engineering work is performed to the correct standards. The Lead Control & Instrumentation Engineer reports to the Engineering Head of Department.
This role is part of a recruitment drive to develop and expand the client's engineering capabilities in Saudi Arabia. The engineering team will support a variety of challenging projects, including traditional Oil and Gas energy projects and Low Carbon/Energy Transition projects (such as CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction). Your responsibilities:

- Allocate appropriate discipline resources for proposals, Concept Studies (DBSPs), FEEDs, FEED verifications, and detailed engineering projects.
- Prepare verbal or written reports on workload and targets, identifying issues and corrective steps if targets are not met.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to stay updated on developments affecting schedules and advise on problem areas.
- Ensure all necessary information is available to engineers beforehand to facilitate smooth work progress.
- Verify the accuracy and correctness of work within the discipline.
- Assess the performance of engineers/designers and provide feedback.
- Perform QA/QC checks by signing off check sheets for junior engineers.
- Ensure availability of reference materials, standards, procedures, codes, and vendor literature.
- Assign work packages, monitor progress, resolve queries, and expedite design activities.
- Coordinate with relevant engineering teams regarding resources and equipment needs.
- Ensure discipline work adheres to standards and is completed within allocated hours.
- Be proficient with email, spreadsheets, and proprietary design software.
- Handle queries and problems confidently based on engineering experience.
- Create work schedules for discipline engineers to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Assess team strengths and weaknesses, allocate work accordingly, and promote skill development.
- Evaluate value engineering and constructability considerations.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
- Maintain HSE standards and comply with the company's Health, Safety & Environment Management System. Take reasonable care of own and others’ health and safety. Follow and uphold company quality standards.
- Raise concerns and suggest improvements to the Head of Department.
Qualifications/Certification:
- Chartered status preferred.
- Significant project management experience in oil and gas or Low Carbon Energy Transition industries.
- Experience with projects in the Middle East.
- Experience working on Saudi Aramco projects.
- Experience with Concept Studies (DBSPs) and FEEDs.
- Experience with Gas Oil Separation Plants (GOPSs).
Skills Requirement:
- Over 20 years of experience in a design engineering environment.
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes.
- Proficiency with engineering and modeling software.
