Role Purpose:
- Plan materials for specific production in line with production system requirements.
- Monitor and track top running items to allow forecasting.
- Ensuring system models are maintained using business intelligence and forecast information gathered from associated departments.
- Procure and plan materials in line with production system requirements.
- Organize production according to demand and quality standards.
- Ensure goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.
Be well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them.
Key Activities:
- Determines quantity & dates for materials needed to meet production schedule.
- Develops & executes material master, material planning for a product line.
- Ensures material requirements are satisfied within the allocated time frame.
- Prepare production planning sheet after coordination with various departments and to ensure the execute work as per plan.
- Update the planning sheet on day-to-day work, prepare reports and provide data for S & OP master file.
- Update supply chain & purchasing about production planning sheet.
- Maintain inventory cost at minimum level with the concept of zero inventory cost.
- Coordinates flow of materials within the manufacturing facility
- Coordinates transfer of materials to and from inventory or warehouse.
- Schedules and controls the release of materials and maintain MRP effectively.
- Monitors material inventory in the plant, in the warehouse, and by critical suppliers.
- Planning and monitoring the materials and products consumption.
- Plan & prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
- Determine manpower, equipment & raw materials needed to cover demand.
- Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations.
- Schedule shift according to production needs.
- Manage flow of inventory & make sure products are properly shipped to customers.
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports.
- Keep paperwork organized.
- Collaborate with quality control, warehouse, and other staff.
- Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
- Coordinate production workflow for one or multiple products.
- Obtain output info (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.).
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
- Analyse business requirements and customer needs.
- Research methods to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulation.
- Comply with HSE practice/ procedures in your area of control.
- Report any near miss/ accident directly to the supervisors.
Industry / Domain
Necessary Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of overall experience in equivalent position
- Knowledge & experience in operations management.
- Familiarity with SAP/ C4C.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Education and Certification Minimum Requirements
- Engineering degree from 5 years accredited university with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in similar operations
