Job description

Advanced Smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.

The smelter is situated in Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium-rich mineral sand) to produce Titanium Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feedstock for titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce titanium pigment, mainly used in paints and plastics.

An exciting opportunity is available for a Maintenance Planner, based in Jizan, KSA, reporting directly to the Reliability and Planning Superintendent.

Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Planner responsible for prioritizing, planning, and scheduling all maintenance work at the site, including the ongoing development of weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes, ensuring team compliance with planning methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare schedules for planned maintenance work, ensuring compliance with planning and scheduling methodologies.
  • Coordinate between production and maintenance teams to prepare schedules that minimize plant outage impacts for preventive maintenance and other activities.
  • Ensure CMMS (SAP) operates effectively, and data is accurate and timely.
  • Implement, review, and update job plans within the maintenance management system.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of contractor and employee resources.
  • Prepare and update maintenance plans and equipment specifications for all plant and equipment.
  • Manage projects related to the area of responsibility.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the planning supervisor.
  • Communicate directly with Procurement and Store departments regarding parts and inventory levels needed to complete scheduled work orders and preventive maintenance orders.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years of experience with a Diploma or High School Certificate.
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; High School Certificate acceptable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance within the process industry.
  • Heavy industry experience: at least 3 years as a planner and 2 years as a technician in the field.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience with MS Project or other planning tools, and CMMS (SAP).
  • Shutdown planning expertise.
  • Understanding of budgeting and estimating work, including resources, spare parts, and contractors.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in criticality analysis, RCM, and FMECA.
  • Knowledge of 5S, SMED, and related methodologies.
  • Basic industry equipment and process knowledge.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
