The Control and Special Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all control and special systems associated with the airport's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure.

The role involves integrating advanced control technologies to optimize energy efficiency, enhance safety, and support uninterrupted airport operations. This position ensures compliance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to deliver a superior airport experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement a facilities management framework: Integrate assets and services for operational effectiveness.
  2. Contract Management: Ensure service providers meet all SLAs and KPIs for maximum asset uptime.
  3. Operational Readiness: Maintain readiness of special systems and facilities.
  4. Quality Standards: Ensure high maintenance and quality for service use.
  5. Oversee Systems: Manage BMS, SCADA, FADS, CCTV, and access control systems.
  6. Real-Time Monitoring: Respond promptly to system anomalies.
  7. Software Updates: Regularly update system software and firmware.
  8. Contract Oversight: Ensure compliance and safety in contractor maintenance.
  9. Liaison with Service Providers: Ensure SLAs are met and issues resolved quickly.
  10. ISO 50001 Implementation: Achieve ISO 55000 standards for special systems.
  11. Strategy Development: Integrate control systems for efficiency and energy management.
  12. Collaboration with MEP Team: Align systems with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  13. Ensure Compliance: Adhere to airport regulations and environmental guidelines.
  14. Routine Audits: Maintain compliance and suggest improvements.
  15. Provide technical resolutions and root cause analysis.
  16. Emergency Response: Lead efforts for critical system failures.
  17. Work with operations teams, security, and service providers for system reliability.
  18. Communication: Inform stakeholders of maintenance schedules and activities.
  19. Maintain Logs: Keep detailed system documentation in CMMS.
  20. Performance Reports: Prepare periodic reports and propose enhancements.
  21. Contractor Performance Coordination: Oversee maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  22. CAFM Management: Facilitate asset management through maintenance planning.
  23. Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety and environmental policies.
  24. Training Needs: Identify and address training for managers and supervisors.
  25. Incident Management: Oversee reporting and investigation of incidents.
  26. Sustainability Targets: Contribute to environmental goals and implement the Environmental Management System.
  27. Efficiency Improvement: Incorporate environmental principles into decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • Saudi National
  • Bachelor's in electrical, electronics, mechatronics, or control systems engineering.
  • Certified Automation Professional (CAP).
  • 5+ years experience in managing control systems in large facilities (airports, energy centers, hotels, hospitals).
  • Proven track record in system integration, project management, and operational excellence in MEP systems.
  • Experience with AI and IoT-based control systems for predictive maintenance and optimization.
  • Familiarity with green building technologies and sustainable practices, system integration and process control principles, energy efficiency principles, and building automation standards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Microsoft Excel or Power BI.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills in English at all levels.
  • Well-versed with the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD software, Document control, and CAFM systems.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and effect implementation of systems and plans.
