Job Purpose
Jobs at this level are responsible for ensuring high quality of assigned projects through effective supervision and execution, respecting time and project schedules. They also assist in articulating comprehensive long-term strategies and plans for STC's non-technical projects, in alignment with overall STC objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage multiple, related projects to achieve benefits unattainable if handled separately.
- Formulate project management budgets and plans considering strategic, operational, and implementation costs, along with annual improvement plans.
- Oversee implementation of new outlets and refurbishments, including logistical and technical requirements in coordination with procurement.
- Identify bottlenecks, optimize process flows to improve efficiencies, control costs, and drive synergies within project management.
- Develop long-term plans (3-year, 5-year) for general projects and analyze them for senior management.
- Review and approve project design and tender documents, including scope of work, bill of quantities, and contractual terms.
- Prepare feasibility plans, master plans, and budgets for non-technical projects, ensuring compliance with budgets.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and execution strategies for high-budget or high-risk projects, defining scope, objectives, and processes.
- Manage project scheduling tools and procedures for effective control.
- Monitor consultant and contractor design and implementation activities for compliance with standards.
- Track project progress against schedules, budgets, and objectives; report to management regularly.
- Approve change requests impacting scope, schedule, or budget, and update project milestones accordingly.
- Manage sign-off processes from consultants and review completed projects before handover.
- Evaluate vendor bids, participate in negotiations, and oversee vendor registration.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation and preventive actions to avoid delays.
- Coordinate with relevant sectors on contract management, invoicing, and payments.
- Support troubleshooting and provide insights to address bottlenecks in project management processes.
- Analyze reports and metrics to identify issues and undertake preventive operational and business risk measures.
- Research market best practices to recommend process improvements.
- Formulate contingency plans and assist in implementing Disaster Recovery projects related to general project management.
Experience and Education
8-10 years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. Certifications are an added advantage.
