The Role
As the Cost Controller, you will oversee financial planning, cost analysis, and budget compliance to optimize profitability across [hotels/resorts]. Drive data-driven decisions to mitigate risks, reduce waste, and align spending with strategic goals
Key Areas of Responsibilities
Please note that the responsibilities outlined below are not exhaustive. Red Sea Global Hospitality employees continuously innovate in caring for the needs of the business, their guests, and their colleagues. As the Cost Controller, you will need to:
Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts with 98% accuracy, collaborating with department heads to align with operational targets.
Monitor daily/weekly spend against budgets, flagging variances exceeding 5% for corrective action.
Stock Supervision: Spot checks, requisitions, inventory you've got eyes on everything that moves, ensuring stock is tracked and discrepancies are investigated.
Month-End Mastermind: Inventory, accruals, transfers, etc. when the month comes to a close, you'll make sure all transactions are perfectly accounted for.
Oversee pricing strategies to maintain profitability
You'll lead Menu Engineering Meetings with the F&B team, dive into Cost of Sales analysis, and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports that help boost the bottom line.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives (e.g., energy efficiency, waste reduction), achieving 510% YOY savings in [F&B, utilities, labor].
Prepare monthly P&L reports, highlighting cost trends, risks, and savings opportunities for senior leadership.
Maintain real-time dashboards, tracking KPIs like cost per occupied room.
Lead internal audits, achieving 100% compliance with zero critical findings.
Train operations teams on cost-conscious practices, cutting unnecessary expenses.
Track and report carbon footprint metrics, supporting ESG goals through initiatives like energy-efficient equipment upgrades or zero-waste packaging.
Key Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. CMA, CPA, or FP&A certification preferred.
5+ years of cost control experience in hospitality, manufacturing, or FMCG industries.
Expertise in ERP systems (SAP, BirchStreet), advanced Excel (Power Query, macros), and financial modeling.
Knowledge of inventory costing methods (FIFO, LIFO).
