Responsibilities



  1. Lead electrical engineering design for building services, from concept to construction and site supervision.
  2. Provide technical support and professional development for team members.
  3. Design in accordance with local and international standards (IEC, British Standards, NFPA).
  4. Prepare technical specifications and manage remote teams of engineers and BIM specialists.
  5. Coordinate with Architects, Structural Engineers, and other external consultants.
  6. Understand and implement AtkinsRéalis ME Quality Assurance procedures.
  7. Conduct site surveys and inspections.
  8. Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Contribute to project bidding, proposals, scope of work, methodology, and risk management.
  10. Lead project QA/QC reviews and provide value engineering ideas.
  11. Produce electrical layouts, switchgear room arrangements, and panel switchboard designs.
  12. Write performance specifications for testing and commissioning.
  13. Review and interrogate Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
  14. Manage multiple projects and service clients within tight deadlines.
  15. Produce design risk assessments and reports.
  16. Mentor and train engineers, manage resources, and report on project progress.
  17. Act as MEP Lead Engineer on select projects and verify Variation Orders.

Requirements



  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (minimum BEng).
  2. 15-20 years of experience in building services design across various markets.
  3. At least 5 years of design experience with consultancy firms in UAE and the Gulf.
  4. Proficiency with electrical design software (Amtech, LUX Calculations, etc.).
  5. Understanding of British, American, and international standards.
  6. Knowledge of sustainable design initiatives (LEED, BREEAM, Mostadam).
  7. Strong computer literacy and communication skills.
  8. Experience with BIM/Revit and Navisworks.
  9. Chartered Engineer (CEng) with CIBSE or IET membership.
  10. Awareness of Middle East regulations.
  11. Excellent English communication and report-writing skills.
  12. Leadership abilities.
