Job description

Job Description: Assembly Technician

The Assembly Technician is responsible for fulfilling work packages related to production, including assembly and repair activities, according to instructions, drawings, and customer data. The role involves routine testing of GIS units, maintaining equipment, supporting teamwork, and adhering to safety and quality standards. The technician should actively contribute to continuous improvement and lean culture, providing feedback and sharing ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete work packages based on production data and foreman instructions.
  2. Perform assembly and repair following work instructions and drawings.
  3. Conduct routine tests on GIS units and components.
  4. Aim for optimal quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  5. Self-check work results and complete checklists and protocols.
  6. Gather feedback from GIS LSC engineers for product improvement.
  7. Handle factory equipment properly, maintain, and calibrate tools.
  8. Support teamwork and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  9. Follow factory safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping guidelines.
  10. Maintain a safe working environment and report irregularities.
  11. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean practices.
  12. Provide feedback and share ideas proactively.
  13. Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.
  14. Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience in assembly and testing within a production environment.
  • Understanding of lean principles and waste minimization.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and material lists.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
