Manage inventory levels required to meet shipment and operations objectives through manufacturing or purchasing procurement. Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the flow of products through the complete production cycle.
Expedite with suppliers and manufacturing personnel as required to meet or exceed customer service requirements. Support warehouse operations during material segregation and other activities for all IP models. Manage spare parts ordering, expediting, and receiving to meet production targets for AM spares.
- Schedule the supply of materials and components to meet production requirements and maintain minimum safety stock levels.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from suppliers to the point of fit.
- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
- Manage daily orders and deliveries.
- Identify and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedules.
- Follow up on material shortages affecting production.
- Implement processes to standards, support continuous improvement, and identify areas for enhancement.
- Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or other IT systems to ensure data accuracy and resolve issues.
- Monitor Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity and manage inventory accuracy.
- Maintain inventory levels against targets and support inventory checks.
- Minimize obsolete stock and liabilities.
- Generate and share regular reports and analyses.
- Review daily product requirement reports.
- Create, modify, and manage purchase orders.
- Coordinate sourcing activities for mechanical parts.
- Collaborate with suppliers to balance capacity and requirements, ensuring on-time production and inventory levels.
- Manage ECN material actions and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Provide backup support for team members as needed.
- Review and revise safety stock levels.
- Support supplier relations through regular reviews.
- Work with engineering and planning teams to develop safety stock levels for project support.
- Communicate delays due to demand fluctuations, salvage, scrap, or late parts.
- Prepare monthly expense, savings, supplier performance, and capacity reports.
- Establish priorities during bottlenecks, making decisions on partial shipments and other logistics to maximize customer service.
- Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms, recommending based on cost, quality, and delivery.
- Coordinate quality matters and engineering changes between manufacturing and suppliers.
- Facilitate problem-solving, implement solutions, and track results.
- Identify and implement process improvements and lean projects within purchasing.
- Maintain data integrity within the ERP system.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives.
- Resolve complex delivery and quality issues with purchases.
- Serve as technical focal point for audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes, and products.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience: Minimum 5 years.
Other skills and knowledge include managerial experience (preferred), excellent communication skills, PC literacy, knowledge of Goulds Pumps products (preferred), ERP & SAP fluency, query processing in ERP/Excel, presentation skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
