Job description

JOB PURPOSE

  • Set & implement the sales strategies and plans to accomplish sales targets, increase volume, maximize revenues, increase the company’s market share, profit and execute the approved plan efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop strategies and long-term plans for the Export function, as well as coordinate, supervise and evaluate the sales & marketing activities within the export markets to ensure achieving the company’s objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Day- to-day operations

  • Manage the implementation of the approved sales plan throughout the different regions or areas. Define the trade channels managers’ roles and supervise them. Define sales goals and targets. Assure the optimal utilization of available resources. Develop sales plans to meet changes that might occur in the market with customers, competitors, or consumers in coordination with the marketing department.
  • Rationalize sales costs by ensuring economy of scale in relation to routes, proper time management & efficient usage of available resources.
  • Monitor the competitors’ activities in the market to assess their impact on the company’s sales. Benefit from this data in developing products and strategies.
  • Develop & maintain constructive relationships with all agents and work on solving problems if any.
  • Secure & direct several shipment sources to meet the clients’ needs on time.
  • Build positive relations with various bodies (internal or external), in addition, assuring timely and efficient documents.
  • Represent the company in export conferences & exhibitions and handle all arrangements.

Plan, direct and coordinate the marketing activities in export markets.

Supervision of Subordinates

  • Review and appraise, regularly and systematically, the results obtained by the respective units of the business of the sales team and to take prompt corrective action, whenever needed, to improve performance.
  • Make certain that there is appropriate co-ordination and co-operation among the trade channels managers reporting directly to him and between other key personnel in the Company.
  • Give direction to the trade channels managers in the development and execution of sales plans and marketing programs for all territories.
  • Foster the development of sound personnel selection standards and programs so that personnel of a desired calibre can be constantly fed into the field organisation.

Budgets and Plans

  • Set the annual national sales plan to meet the company’s sales objectives. Plan should define the sales area, targeted customers, coverage objectives and the sales method in each area.
  • Participate in pricing products, profit margin, and assure applying the company’s sales & financial policies.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Carry out company objectives and policies as they pertain to the operations under his control.To recommend desirable changes in important policies or practices for the approval of the cluster management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Holder of a BA or a B.Sc. from a recognized university.

Experience:

  • 10-12 years relevant experience, including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
