Job Summary:
The Truck Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. This includes working on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other key truck components to maintain optimal functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on trucks, including oil changes, brake checks, and tire replacements.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, and suspension components.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems and ensure proper vehicle operation.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and services performed.
- Follow all safety and regulatory procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Test drive trucks after repairs to ensure they are operating properly.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in truck maintenance and repair.
- In-depth knowledge of truck systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Formal training or certification in truck mechanics or automotive technology is a plus.
