Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide the Environmental leadership and consultation in the development and completion of the site activities and to ensure effective implementation in respect of adherence and company environmental policy and procedural requirements.

To support and cooperate with all functions and parties to achieve the zero harm goal and Client satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct the regular monitoring and measuring processes (daily / weekly) for noise and dust, etc. are conducted and coordinate all aspects such as but not limited to pollution control, waste management, environmental health, and social aspects from the Environmental and Social Action Plan.
  • Participate with the project functions in the implementation of environmental policies, plans and practices on site through the visible leadership such as, HSE walk-downs for all areas, deviations reporting, recommended solutions and participation in the regular Toolbox Talks.
  • Liaising with relevant bodies such as the client representative, local authorities, consultants and consortium partners to communicate the project environmental performance and to fix any conflict and to communicate the environmental action plans.
  • Follow up with third parties the environmental auditing, analyzing and reporting the environmental performance to internal and external parties and regulatory bodies.
  • Follow up the measuring of the environmental parameters measuring with by the third parties and update the monitoring devices are calibration log.
  • Collect the required data from a range of sources through site assessments, environmental monitoring and third party reports to analyze the project environmental performance and present the rooms of improvements and corrective actions.
  • Regularly evaluate the environmental impact and the hazard of the projects activities in addition to the new updates or issuance of the legal requirements in order to update the project environmental risk and legal registers.
  • Advise the project management and the contractors for the present findings, costings, and recommendations on the containment, clean-up process, remediation, recycling and waste disposal in order to fix environmental issues. And provide the advice about preventing future difficulties.
  • Inspect the implementation of the environmental emergency planning with the project emergency team leader and the report the deviations to the involved parties.
  • Follow the corrective action implementation with involved parties and register the finding in the project environmental action plan.
  • Take part in the investigation of any environmental events or accident and prepare the accident report with event analysis and corrective action.

SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain standards of HSE and comply with Company’s HSE Management System requirements
  • Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
  • Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements.

SOCIAL COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain company’s social management system policy via follow and report any deviated cases against PSP IMS policy.
  • Take his own responsibility to comply with the social accountability requirements according to the standard SA8000.
  • Co-operate with the SP team for any further communication in order to improve and enhance the level of implementation and compliance with the company’s social management system.

REQUIRED FUNCTIONAL QUALIFICATION

Basic Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Environmental Science or Engineering
  • Environment Specialist qualifications
  • ISO 14001 lead Auditor
  • Accident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
  • HAZMAT and HAZCOM
  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Possesses very Good English language and Microsoft Office

Related Field Experience:

+4 years of experience in large EPC Projects.

Overall Experience:

+4 years of experience in the construction environment management.

Preferred Requirements:

NEBOSH Environment International Diploma or equivalent
