Job description

We are currently seeking passionate and dynamic Engineering professionals who pride themselves on delivering extraordinary customer service and providing creative solutions to our guests.

As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for all matters related to the repairs and maintenance operations of the physical plant and engineering facilities within the hotel. This includes maintaining all mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment such as heating and ventilation systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Organizing and implementing preventive maintenance programs for electrical and mechanical equipment, including general building works.
  2. Advising the General Manager and the Corporate Vice President - Engineering and Technical Services on any issues.
  3. Supervising maintenance staff and contractors performing minor building works, electrical, and mechanical installations.
  4. Liaising with contractors, writing specifications for electrical, mechanical, and related building works, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and inspecting and approving completed works.
  5. Overseeing the maintenance of all life safety systems throughout the hotel and reporting major defects.
  6. Maintaining up-to-date administration files, including drawings, specifications, equipment manuals, and maintenance records.
  7. Recommending and evaluating energy conservation programs and investigating wastage.
Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

Ideally, you should hold a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering with at least three years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Proficiency in written and spoken English, along with the ability to identify faults and rectify subsystems, is essential.

Knowledge & Competencies

The ideal candidate will be able to handle stress and work under pressure, possess strong administrative skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to write concise reports.
