PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES


Safety


  • Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.

Technical:


  • Provide direction to staff of the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment as prescribed by the Work Instruction Procedures. Operate the unit when required.
  • Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Engineering, and Maintenance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities.
  • Support operations, guide, and lead the team during startups, shutdowns, and emergencies of the plants. Maintain accurate document control and monitor quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems through operations guidance.
  • Provide input for scheduled outages to meet contractual requirements.
  • Manage plant production efficiently based on data-driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met for maximum profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with Shift Team, Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to meet production targets, optimize energy efficiency, and ensure safety.

Operations


  • Ensure the safety of all operations personnel through the APQ Basic Safety Practice program, including Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Regulatory requirements and all CM, PM tasks.
  • Support and prepare for Shutdown and Turnaround Planning.
  • Meet standards for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and customer service.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction in safety, reliability, product quality, and supply flexibility.
  • Build plant technical capability through support from leadership and teams.
  • Provide coaching and motivation to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, train, and promote top personnel, fostering open communication and results-oriented performance.
  • Maintain close working relationships with engineering and maintenance to monitor plant systems and equipment.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact for internal issues related to HYCO units, providing updates to customers.
  • Drive operational productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with customer counterparts from other refinery units to align expectations and demands.
  • Ensure logs and operator logs are accurate and compliant.
  • Review and act upon IOW Event Manager Logs daily.
  • Inspect all Active Leaks each shift and report any degradation.
  • Audit, review, and assign actions for operator logs daily.
  • Complete team’s Work List regularly and ensure mitigation plans are implemented for high-risk log items.
