JOB SUMMARY

Carry out qualitative & quantitative physical and chemical analysis on raw materials, intermediate and finished lubricant samples, third party manufactured product samples and complaint samples from customers. Ensure that all the testing is carried out as per prescribed laboratory procedures, standard test methods and the company Quality Management System.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

RM, Finished Products, other samples testing activity

Test RMs (base oils, additives), finished products, any other samples against specifications and ensure spec compliance.

  • Receive, tag and log the sample.
  • Carry out the required tests.
  • Confirm pass/fail/repeat test/sampling.
  • Report to Chemist/Chief Chemist.
  • Archieve samples as per retention policy. Manage samples retention workflow.
  • Advise adjustments for the blending sample if sample fails as per the advice from Senior Chemist.
  • Update / issue test reports, update log sheet.
  • Escalate matters beyond own scope of action.

Pilot Blend activity

  • Prepare pilot blends as per the advice of Chemist/Senior Chemist.
  • Report the results to seniors as needed/requested.
  • Run pilot plants and performance test equipment e.g. Grease pilot plant etc. (where available and after proper training).

Used Oil Analysis

Test used oil samples received from customers.

  • Receive, tag and log the sample.
  • Carry out the required tests, feed data into IT system, prepare reports, and consult/forward to seniors as needed/requested.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Minimum academic, commercial and technical qualifications required for performing the full duties of the job.

Academic:

Diploma (in Chemistry preferred)

Related Work Experience

2 years of work experience in petrochemical or related sector in a chemical manufacturing / analytical laboratory.

Language skills:

English is essential. Arabic preferred.
