Job Summary

The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning and designing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. This includes developing policies, standards, inspection procedures, and evaluation tools for MEP matters involving judicial branch facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Design MEP Systems: Design systems for buildings, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
  2. Technical Documentation: Prepare drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  3. Coordination: Collaborate with architects and structural engineers to ensure compatibility and integration of MEP systems.
  4. Equipment Selection: Choose appropriate materials considering efficiency, performance, cost, and sustainability.
  5. Sustainable Design: Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable technologies such as energy-efficient lighting, HVAC controls, and renewable energy systems.
  6. Construction Support: Provide technical oversight during construction, review shop drawings, conduct inspections, and resolve issues.
  7. Testing & Commissioning: Manage testing, balancing, and commissioning to ensure systems operate efficiently before occupancy.
  8. Compliance: Ensure adherence to building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  9. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of designs, calculations, specifications, and communications.
  10. Communication: Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to address needs and concerns.
