Job description

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) to be part of the team at Enterprise Singapore's Riyadh Overseas Centre, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Regional Director, the BDM will be responsible for facilitating the expansion of Singapore-based companies into the region, specifically the markets of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.

Responsibilities

Your key roles will be to:

  • Provide in-market expertise to help Singapore companies expand their businesses in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait. This includes:
  • Monitor the business environment and provide up-to-date market intelligence;
  • Navigate the local regulatory environment and provide advisory to Singapore-based companies to help advance their businesses in the aforementioned markets;
  • Organisation of marketing trips, missions and other events, as assigned;
  • Establish, maintain and cultivate strategic contacts and partnerships to generate leads, develop opportunities and facilitate business matching, across different sectors.
  • Conducting sector and region-specific research and analysis, as well as report writing, to identify project and investment opportunities for Singapore-based companies. Monitoring key growth areas to develop a strong pipeline of projects across sectors.
  • Promote Singapore as a vibrant trading and innovation hub.
  • Frequent travel (>50% of the time) might be required within Saudi Arabia, and to the countries of Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Regional Director of Enterprise Singapore in Riyadh or Singapore HQ.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree from a reputable university;
  • Minimum 35 years of working experience in business development, market analysis, marketing or related fields;
  • Evident interest in international trade and investment promotion, business development, sales and marketing;
  • Proven ability to conduct accurate research and compile concise clear reports and presentations;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Proficient in the MS Office software, especially Word, Excel and Power Point;
  • Strong command of English and Arabic;
  • You should be able to multi-task, willing to go for meetings and ready to travel;
  • You should be independent, resourceful and result-oriented;
  • It is a plus if you:
  • have prior experiences with government trade and investment promotion services;
  • have existing network of contacts in Saudi Arabia and other relevant markets as a base to further develop and generate a pipeline of leads and projects for Singapore-based companies;
  • have industry background in Infrastructure, Urban Solutions, Energy, Logistics, Digital and Innovation;
