Job description

Responsible in supervising, coordinating and participating in all activities related to provision of an efficient medical laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities :

• Supervise the daily work of the laboratory in his section of assignment in order to maintain smooth workflow.
• Answer patient s queries regarding the laboratory investigations.
• Take responsibility of all results issued in his section of assignment.
• Verify and sign all the abnormal and the critical results.
• Insure the proper run of the machines maintenance, calibration and controls.
• Check with the Medical Technologists/Laboratory Technicians regarding violation of quality control rules, and advises the proper action.
• Advise Medical Technologist/Laboratory Technicians whenever any discrepancy is faced in the patients results.
• Promote research and develops procedures and techniques ensuring accuracy, precision and reliability of tests.
• Train and teach the laboratory staff whenever necessary, and supervises the weekly sectional educational meeting.
• Provide suggestion to the chief of laboratory concerning the improvement of the quality control in the laboratory.
• Take active participation in CME (Continuous Medical Education) activities in the department.
• Participate in writing, reviewing and implementing Internal Policy and Procedure (IPP), forms and any documentation to achieve technical parts of laboratory according to local and international laboratory standards.
• Participate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Provide orientation, bedside training and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees (interns, residents and fellows) as assigned.
• Participate in self-and others education, training and development as applicable and department s educational activities and training programs of the department.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
• Perform any other responsibility that may be assigned by Laboratory Supervisor or Laboratory Director
