Your Job

Guardian Industries is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Al Jubail plant in Saudi Arabia.

In this new role, we will lean on you to bring a project-focused mindset, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safe reliable operations and will help transform the plant by adding further automation, upgrading the facility, and implementing process and safety improvements.

The site boasts more than 250+ employees and produces Float Glass, Vacuum coating Glass and Wet Coating glass.

What You Will Do

  • Provide on-the-floor Engineering support to operations & maintenance to understand equipment performance, troubleshoot issues in a timely manner, and evaluate system capabilities.
  • Actively participate in driving a safety culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviours and participate and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Execute capital projects including upgrades to plant systems, process equipment, and scalable transformation priorities
  • Generate mechanical requirements and estimates for projects and equipment upgrades
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Oversee the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment such as conveying systems, automated stacking equipment, batching operations and combustion furnace operations
  • Read, modify and create technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated models
  • Provide training and technical support to Maintenance and Production Departments
  • Investigate equipment failures and make recommendations for solutions to manufacturing processes

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven practical experience within industrial environments.
  • Solid understanding and experience working with equipment safety systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic schematic diagrams.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting a variety of industrial equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, air compressors, fan alignment systems, mixers, chiller systems, cooling towers, reverse osmosis and deionization (R/O & DI) plants, and generators.
  • Hands-on experience in continuous process automation plants
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fluid systems, including air, cooling water, pure water, and related systems.
  • Good level of communication in English.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or other CAD software packages
  • Hands-on experience in practical mechanical design, fabrication, and providing manufacturing support
  • Background in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Thorough understanding and application of NFPA codes and piping standards.
