AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continuous access to innovation for our customers. Key job responsibilities

The Regional Environmental Engineer (REE) will oversee environmental compliance at AWS data centers in Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities include developing standards and policies for regulatory compliance, providing guidance to regional teams, analyzing environmental performance, establishing metrics, and working with government and internal stakeholders. The role is based in Jeddah, with regular domestic and occasional international travel.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabia's environmental regulations, successful program management experience, and leadership in complex projects. Responsibilities

• Manage compliance with local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and Amazon policies.
• Develop strategic programs integrating engineering, construction, and operations to promote environmental responsibility.
• Lead interactions with regulatory agencies, permit evaluations, and process innovations.
• Ensure contractor and employee work complies with Amazon standards.
• Create and monitor environmental metrics for performance assessment.
• Conduct environmental audits for continuous improvement.
• Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Represent Amazon in dealings with government agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Build relationships to identify and manage risks early.
• Prepare timely reports for governmental agencies.
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, chemical/environmental engineering, or related field.
• Experience as an environmental resource, program specialist, or manager.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s environmental regulations, assessments, and reporting.
• Leadership experience across multiple sites and influence without direct authority.
• Fluent in Arabic, written and spoken.
