To lead, manage, and optimize the end-to-end transportation and logistics operations, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods across the supply chain. This role is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, managing third-party logistics providers, ensuring compliance, and driving performance improvements in transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement transportation and logistics strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead initiatives for route optimization, fuel efficiency, and cost control.
- Transportation Management:
- Oversee daily transportation operations including fleet management (owned and/or outsourced).
- Manage scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor transport performance (OTIF, cost per km, etc.).
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and develop the transportation and logistics team (drivers, dispatchers, planners).
- Provide training and support to improve efficiency, safety, and service quality.
- Vendor & Partner Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transport service providers.
- Monitor service levels and performance of 3PLs and freight forwarders.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure transportation operations comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Implement safety policies and ensure driver training, vehicle inspections, and accident response protocols.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Prepare and manage the transportation budget.
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising service levels.
- Technology & Systems:
- Implement and manage logistics software (TMS, GPS tracking, ERP integration).
- Utilize data analytics to drive continuous improvement and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- 7+ years of experience in logistics and transportation management, including leadership roles.
- Experience managing fleets (owned and/or outsourced) and working with 3PL providers.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, routing, and vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or similar.
