Job description

BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel in a safe training environment on how to operate their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and modifications for Tornado aircraft both on and off the aircraft.
• Provide support to RSAF away from Tornado Support Service (TSS) if required.
• Perform major and minor mechanical maintenance, repairs, modifications, and TCTOs for Tornado aircraft.
• Ensure the quality and completeness of the work carried out or signed off on aircraft or aircraft components in accordance with approved data.
• Work within the requirements of the TSS Quality Management System, Safety Management System, and RSAF Technical Orders.
• Complete maintenance paperwork, aircraft forms, records, and documentation in both hard and electronic formats.
• Maximize efforts to meet TSS programme timescales safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
• Report areas of inexperience or training needs to immediate supervisors for themselves and others.
• Provide on-the-job and theoretical training for trainees.
• Act as deputy for the aircraft supervisor if required.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

• Extensive experience within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal training or experience on Tornado aircraft, or successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/TSNTTP).
• Current authorisations for aircraft maintenance.
• Completion of Tornado aircraft maintenance course.
• Working knowledge of Q-pulse, GOLD, and an understanding of M&CA processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Hold a valid driving licence.
• Good understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and relevant technical publications.
• Understanding of RSAF operations and working practices.
