Job description

Advanced smelting Industries Co. (ASIC), which is equally owned by Tasnee.

The smelter is situated in the Jizan Economic City and is designed to smelt ilmenite (Titanium rich mineral sand) to produce Titania Dioxide slag and pig iron. The plant consists of two Electric Arc furnaces, each with a capacity of 250kt slag and 125kt pig iron. The slag that is produced is tapped from the furnace and processed to be used as feed stock for the titanium chlorination and sulphuric acid processes to finally produce Titanium pigment which is mainly used in paints and plastics.

An exciting opportunity is available in Slagger Company for Technician, Fireman Based in Jizan.

About the role:

You will be responsible for:

  • Report to fire prevention specialist and assist as required in operational and administrative efficiency of the fire and rescue service on station and plant.
  • Preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires with the goal of protecting lives, the environment and property.
  • Operating tools and equipment are used for firefighting safely and effectively.
  • Providing appropriate medical care within their scope of knowledge in emergency situations.
  • Analyzing hazardous situations and thinking of quick solutions and actions.
  • Teaching and participating in training classes and drills.
  • Performing general maintenance on firefighting equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean environment in the department facilities.
  • Keep inventory of tools and equipment on appliances.
  • Report mechanical failures or difficulties and missing or damaged equipment.
  • Responsibility for updating and maintaining all records pertaining to their duties.
  • Attend training courses when required.
  • Be flexible regarding working shifts at plant as per shift roster.
  • Carrying out such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Diploma Degree preferred in fire.

Minimum Experience:

  • 3 years of experience or more in related field.

Required Skills:

    • The use of base radio equipment.
    • Fire communications system and equipment.
    • Emergency medical procedures.
    • Understand and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
    • Communicate orally with co-worker and the public in the English language in face-to-face one-on-one settings or using a telephone.
    • Remain calm and effective under heavy workloads and in emergency situations.
    • Obtain and act on information quickly and accurately in emergency situations.
