Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborates with education coordinators to ensure the educational needs of assigned units/clinics or groups of nurses are met through development and coordination of educational programs at the unit level.
- Contributes to enhancing the knowledge and skills of professional nurses at the hospital.
- Works with staff, head nurses, Nursing Education colleagues, and others to establish educational plans for areas of responsibility.
- Assists in maintaining a suitable learning environment and acts as a preceptor/mentor in supervising and teaching nursing students and new staff to develop their competence.
- Demonstrates collaborative multidisciplinary partnerships aimed at continuous improvement in quality patient care.
- Serves as a clinical and professional role model and mentor at the unit level.
- Promotes and shares knowledge through mentorship, aligning with relevant research and evidence-based practice. Establishes learning processes and encourages the use of evidence-based practice at the unit level.
- Acts as a nursing consultant to the multidisciplinary team on clinical nursing practices for various patient populations.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve clinical practice and patient satisfaction for patients and their families.
- Coordinates with internal and external organizations for information exchange, benchmarking, and activities related to best practices in clinical specialties.
- Reviews nurse-sensitive indicator data and leads initiatives to meet or exceed benchmark results.
- Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and supply inventory concerns to the head nurse or designee.
- Contributes to cost-efficiency efforts by monitoring resource utilization, careful ordering, and use of equipment and materials.
- Participates in special projects or assignments aligned with nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model at the unit level.
- Continuously develops personal knowledge, skills, and professional awareness; maintains a professional profile with documented evidence of performance and skill maintenance.
- Engages in self and others’ education, training, and development as applicable.
- Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing is required.
Experience Required
Four (4) years of nursing experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or six (6) years with an Associate Degree/Diploma is required.
Other Requirements (Certificates)
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure from the country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure are required.
- Experience as a preceptor for nurses, completion of a preceptor course, and teaching experience (clinical or academic setting) are required.
